Dear the lovely person who wishes the people in his/her life would understand this -
It's okay. YOU understand. That is enough.
Now get on that saddle of yours and start making beautiful things happen with your life, regardless of how that will happen. Because it was your plan all along.
Love,
You.

Dear you,
You! You who has been noticing all these wonderful strangers giving you warm smiles recently! You who has been wondering, "Why should these people be so wonderful only in December? What's wrong with being this wonderful ALL YEAR ROUND?"
You know you're the most loveable for these thoughts. And you know what? Why don't YOU try being the person who's at their best and sweetest and kindest all year round? What, you don't think people will notice? Well... let's just say that when this time of year rolls around again, and you've met new people who are also just starting to wonder at all the beautiful strangers being wonderful to them, these new people will stop and remember YOU. They'll ask themselves, "But person Y was always this wonderful, no matter what the time of year! Even when we'd only just met. Gee. I guess this person Y is even more wonderful than noticing all these beautiful strangers passing on their seasonal gratitude."
...And who knows what magical things will follow THAT train of thought?
Keep singing in the streets with your eyes and your heart,
You.

Dear YOU:
Don't you love it when you learn something amazingly groundbreaking about yourself and everyone around you instantly knows?
Heck, those who don't know you as well may even stop to ask if you've done something new to your hair!
But you know it's something much better...
Love,
me/yourself/the bus driver who smiled at you this morning/the pigeon who ate your muffin crumbs

two letters
Late at night on December 2nd, 2008:
Dear self,
I love you for knowing deep inside your heart that one day you will no longer need these letters to remind yourself of the lovely things you discover about yourself every day. That one day you will be writing letters that people are thinking of writing, as a way of sending them to the other people who need as much love as those who do get letters.
Keep writing as long as you keep loving,
me
2nd thought upon waking, December 3rd, 2008:
Dear self,
That day is TODAY. That is how much I love myself. To the fullest amount, and this time I can feel that it will be here forever.
I love myself for feeling this love and I feel this love because I love myself.
So, world: now it's your turn.
Get on it, because I'm going to be right here at the ready!

Dear self,
I love how you stop feeling the bad memories when you dance into the room right after something brilliant, something lovely, has happened to you.
Like when you walk into the newly freshened up bathroom of a house that you used to believe was haunted.
And except this time, instead of avoiding the mirror, you look straight into your own eyes and see yourself smiling and laughing.
I love that. I know you do, too. It makes you giggle even more right as I say it, doesn't it?
To think, all it takes is a friendly stranger to smile at you on the street.

the true value of hard work
Dear self,
I love the dedication with which you are applying to the breakdown of those many mental barriers that create your OCD. I love that this dedication and whatever-diagnosed ADD come from two separate sources of energy.
I love that you are not afraid of losing the psychological "disorder" aspect of your identity.
I love that because you are working hard every second, of every day, you are growing to become the person you want to be.
I love that every time you make a breakthrough, you send out a small prayer to the universe that other struggling people will someday feel the clarity and relief that you do.
Love,
me
